Generic Flue Gas Condensation (Leaking Boiler)

The Factory has a Technical tip(Attached) with instructions to verify whether the boiler is truly leaking or condensing. With our new DOE requirements on cast iron boilers there are times that the cast iron boiler is running efficient enough to condense. This Tech tip goes through how to properly identify whether this is the case or if there is a leak. leak testing can be done quickly(about an hour) and we are just looking to isolate the boiler from the rest of the system, increase pressure to 20 PSI and allow the boiler to cycle on high limit a couple of times. after this test, if the pressure drops then we know there is a leak, if the pressure remains, this tech tip goes through some other possible solutions to stop condensation.

It is critical to perform the pressure test before removing the boiler, the factory does test any boiler/part that gets returned.
