SERVICE TIPS:
- Goodman 1 stage ecm furnaces will have board with a 3 digit display but this unit does not have the bluetooth capability. All setting to be done using the menus and push buttons to navigate.
- When you see furnace running it will display something like "F04" Which simply means fan running on speed tap 4. If there is a call for heat it will alternate between "GH1" and "F04", again these are status codes.
- Errors will Have "EE" or "E" in the display. For example "EE2" or "EEJ".
- Heating Mode Speed Selection: The manual states you need to get to the "gA1" option in the menu to change the speeds. This is actually incorrect and you will be looking for the "gAF" menu option.
- The code " IDL " or if you are reading board upside down," 7P1 " is strictly saying that the furnace is idle with no call. This is not a fault code.
- If you are getting the inducer relay fault, EEJ or EEj, you will first want to verify grounding. This is the number one issue. Another thing we have seen is outside electrical issues. It could be a pump or some of appliance on the same leg of the furnace. We have also seen where the insulation on the incoming wire was rubbed off and would arc every once in awhile and kill the inducer relay because it was the weakest circuit in the house. If you have changed a board due to this, be sure to check all the other items we listed before putting on another.
