AWEF Factors for TEVs

These charts will help in accurately sizing and selecting the proper thermostatic expansion valve for AWEF units only. AWEF stands for Annual Walk-in Energy Factor, and is designated by the DOE to units that meet an energy input versus cooling capacity standard. Please follow the steps listed.

1. Select the chart with the system refrigerant 
2. Determine saturated suction temperature (SST) 
3. Determine thermostatic charge required 
4. Select appropriate valve for unit’s capacity
