The new 80% R-32 compliant furnaces have a new look which includes a new top panel and solid burner access door. The combustion air louvers have been replaced with a combustion air opening on the top right side and a combustion air coupling. Most of the openings in the wrapper and top panel are knockouts, instead of plastic plugs.
Beginning July 8, 2024, manufacturing incorporated the new look into our current non-A2L 80% furnaces as a running change (no major or minor revision). In early September, the non-A2L 80% non-communicating furnaces were discontinued, and the new R-32 compliant non-communicating furnaces are now in production.
They are in the process of setting up the 0161F00037 Coupling, 0154F00041 Gasket and 4 screws in a kit for the current 80% furnaces that have the new 80% look. They are working on a service bulletin to address this matter. The kit and service bulletin should be out by mid-October and production of our current 80% communicating furnaces should have these parts included by mid-October. Until then, an installer can leave the combustion air opening on the right as is or, if preferred, order the coupling and gasket listed above.
